Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Biscuits (Pillsbury Grands FROZEN biscuits)

Instructions

  • Cook the Sausage – In a large pan over medium heat, brown the sausage, breaking it into crumbles. Do not drain the grease.
  • Add Flour – Sprinkle in the flour and stir well until it is fully absorbed, with no white streaks remaining.
  • Pour in Milk – Slowly add the milk while stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
  • Season & Simmer – Add salt and pepper to taste. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  • Thicken the Gravy – Reduce the heat to low and let the gravy thicken to your desired consistency. Remove from heat.
  • Serve with Biscuits – Bake the frozen biscuits according to package instructions and serve with hot sausage gravy.

Notes

  • For spicier gravy, add red pepper flakes or cayenne.
  • For extra richness, replace half the milk with heavy cream.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
