Ingredients
- 1 pound cooked roast beef
- 3-4 potatoes (baked or boiled)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 pie crusts
- Beef gravy (for serving)
For the Gravy:
- Drippings from beef roast
- 1 to 2 cups water
- 2 teaspoons beef bouillon
- 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with ¼ cup water
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Shred or chop the cooked roast beef and cube the potatoes.
- In a bowl, mix together the beef, potatoes, salt, and pepper.
- Cut the pie crusts in half and fill each half with the mixture. Seal the edges.
- Place the filled pasties on a greased baking sheet. Cut slits on top of each pasty for ventilation.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crispy.
- Brush the pasties with melted butter for extra flavor and color.
- Serve the pasties with the prepared beef gravy.
Notes
- You can add shredded carrots or onions to the filling for more flavor.
- Substitute roast beef with chicken for a variation.
- If making ahead, refrigerate the assembled pasties until ready to bake.
