7 Layer Bars are a delicious, decadent treat made with a combination of chocolate chips, nuts, coconut, and a sweet condensed milk base. Each bite is a perfect harmony of textures, from crunchy to creamy, making these bars an irresistible dessert.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 ½ cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)

1 cup shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened)

1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds)

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 cup butterscotch chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Stir until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  3. Press the graham cracker mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish, creating an even layer.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips, shredded coconut, chopped nuts, and butterscotch chips (if using) evenly over the crust.
  5. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top of the layers, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the top is bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For a nut-free version, omit the nuts or replace them with seeds like sunflower seeds.
  • For a vegan option, use dairy-free butter and condensed coconut milk.
  • Use gluten-free graham cracker crumbs to make this recipe gluten-free.
  • Experiment with adding mini marshmallows or dried fruit like cranberries or raisins for extra texture and flavor.
  • Swap the chocolate chips for white chocolate, peanut butter chips, or a combination of different types of chocolate.
