This Tater Tot Hamburger Green Bean Casserole is a hearty, comfort-filled dish with ground beef, green beans, creamy soup, and crispy Tater Tots that come together for a filling and delicious meal.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 can (15 oz) green beans, drained

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

½ cup milk

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 package (32 oz) frozen Tater Tots

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange a single layer of frozen Tater Tots on the bottom of the dish. Spoon half of the beef and green bean mixture over the Tater Tots and spread evenly. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Add another layer of Tater Tots. Spread the remaining beef mixture on top, then sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40–45 minutes, or until the Tater Tots are golden and crispy, and the casserole is hot and bubbly.
  6. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Vegetarian Version: Swap the ground beef for a meat substitute like lentils or plant-based protein.
  • More Veggies: Add additional vegetables like corn, peas, or carrots for a heartier dish.
  • Spicy Option: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños for a spicy kick.
  • Tater Tot Twist: Try using hash browns or crispy crinkle-cut fries for variety.
  • Can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for 1 day before baking.
