Crispy Bang Bang Salmon Bites are tender, flaky salmon pieces coated with flavorful spices and served with a creamy, spicy-sweet Bang Bang sauce, perfect for a quick dinner or as an appetizer.

Ingredients

pounds salmon fillets (skin removed, cut into bite-sized pieces)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

½ cup mayonnaise

¼ cup Thai sweet chili sauce

1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon lime juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Cut the salmon into 1-inch bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the salmon pieces with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Toss gently to coat evenly.
  3. For the Bang Bang Sauce, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha sauce, honey, and lime juice in a small bowl until smooth and well combined.
  4. Air Fryer Method: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the seasoned salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  5. Oven Method: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the salmon bites. Bake for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Pan-Fry Method: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat with a small amount of olive oil. Cook the salmon for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  7. Drizzle the cooked salmon bites with the Bang Bang sauce or toss them in the sauce to coat evenly. Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Increase the amount of sriracha in the Bang Bang sauce for a spicier flavor.
  • Substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • For a gluten-free version, ensure all sauces and seasonings are gluten-free.
  • Leftover salmon bites can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–4 minutes to maintain crispiness.
