This light and fluffy whipped strawberry mousse is a perfect dessert for almost any occasion. With its creamy texture and fresh strawberry flavor, it’s a sweet treat that can be whipped up in no time.

Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese or coconut cream

4 oz yogurt or additional cream cheese or coconut cream

1 cup powdered sugar or sugar-free alternative

5 medium-size strawberries

Optional: 1/4 tsp vanilla bean paste

Instructions

  1. If using cream cheese, allow it to come to room temperature. If using coconut cream, open the can and ensure that the contents are thick and creamy. (If the coconut cream is too hard and flaky, it will not work well for the mousse.)
  2. Remove the stems from the strawberries and blend or mash them until pureed.
  3. Add all the remaining ingredients to the strawberries and blend until completely smooth, using a food processor, blender, or hand mixer.
  4. Transfer the mousse mixture into serving dishes, then refrigerate. The mousse will thicken considerably as it chills.
  5. Serve chilled and enjoy the smooth, sweet strawberry flavor!

Notes

  • Store the mousse in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • If using frozen strawberries, thaw and drain them completely before pureeing.
  • This mousse can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a thicker mousse, refrigerate for longer or add extra cream cheese or coconut cream.
  • This recipe is vegan-friendly when using coconut cream and dairy-free yogurt or sweeteners.
