Stovetop Fettuccine Bolognese is a rich and flavorful Italian comfort food that can be made quickly on the stovetop. Featuring a hearty Bolognese sauce with ground beef, vegetables, tomato paste, and a hint of white wine, this dish pairs perfectly with fettuccine pasta. Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 medium carrot, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup white wine

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1/2 cup milk (or cream for extra richness)

1 pound ground beef

1 1/2 cups chicken broth

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 pound fettuccine pasta

Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and garlic. Cook for about 5 minutes until softened.

  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through.

  • Stir in the white wine and let it cook until mostly evaporated.

  • Add the tomato paste, milk, and chicken broth to the skillet, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and the flavors to meld together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • While the sauce simmers, cook the fettuccine pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  • Once the Bolognese sauce has thickened, toss the cooked pasta into the sauce, making sure the fettuccine is well-coated.

  • Serve with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and enjoy!
