Ingredients

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup BBQ sauce

1 cup Dr. Pepper

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1 tablespoon cornstarch

4 pounds frozen chicken wings

Instructions

  1. Place all the frozen chicken wings into your slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, BBQ sauce, Dr. Pepper, red pepper flakes, and cornstarch.
  3. Reserve ¼ cup of the sauce mixture for later use.
  4. Pour the remaining sauce over the wings in the slow cooker.
  5. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the wings are tender.
  6. Optional: After cooking, transfer the wings to a foil-lined baking sheet, brush them with the reserved sauce, and broil for 3-5 minutes until they are glossy and slightly crispy.
  7. Sprinkle with parsley if desired, then serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • For spicier wings, add more red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
  • Experiment with different BBQ sauces for unique flavors, such as smoky or sweet.
  • For crispy wings, toss in a little flour and broil them after slow cooking.
  • Add honey to the sauce for a sweeter flavor.
  • Leftover wings can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the microwave or broiled for crispiness.
