These Slow Cooker Barbecue Beef Sliders are a crowd-pleasing recipe featuring tender beef, savory caramelized onions, and tangy barbecue sauce. The beef becomes melt-in-your-mouth tender, making it perfect for sliders. With minimal prep, these sliders are ideal for busy days, game days, or any event where you need to serve a delicious and satisfying meal with ease.
4 boneless beef chuck roasts
18 ounces barbecue sauce
1 large onion, thinly sliced
½ cup water
½ teaspoon salt
18 slider rolls (such as Hawaiian Honey Wheat rolls)
Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and cook the beef until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Leave 2 tablespoons of beef drippings in the pan, add sliced onions and salt, and cook until tender.
Transfer onions to the bottom of a 6qt slow cooker.
Pour water into the pan, scraping up the browned bits. Add this mixture to the slow cooker.
Add the beef roasts and barbecue sauce to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
Cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
Shred the beef with two forks and mix the sauce before serving.
You can use other cuts of beef like brisket or round roast if desired.
Make it spicier by adding chili flakes or hot sauce to the barbecue sauce.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
