This Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi is a classic seafood dish featuring shrimp sautéed in a buttery, garlicky sauce with a hint of lemon and optional red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.

Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

¼ cup butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

½ cup dry white wine (or substitute chicken broth)

½ lemon, juiced (about 23 tablespoons)

¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Salt and pepper, to taste

¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

Freshly grated Parmesan, optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until soft and fragrant, making sure not to let it brown.
  2. Add the shrimp in a single layer. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Pour the wine or chicken broth into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  4. Add the lemon juice, return the shrimp to the skillet, and toss everything together to coat the shrimp in the sauce. Stir in the fresh parsley.
  5. Plate the shrimp and spoon the sauce over them. Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan if desired. Serve hot with pasta, bread, or rice for a complete meal.

Notes

  • For added texture and flavor, consider adding vegetables like spinach, tomatoes, or bell peppers.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes for a spicier kick.
  • Chicken breast or scallops can be used as a substitute for shrimp.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat in a skillet with a small amount of butter or broth to avoid drying out the shrimp.
  • Frozen shrimp can be used, but make sure to thaw and pat them dry before cooking.
