This 20-Minute Homemade Bread is a quick, easy, and delicious recipe that yields soft, fluffy, and golden-brown bread in just 30 minutes, perfect for any meal or occasion.

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Pour in the milk and vegetable oil, and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead gently for 1-2 minutes until it comes together.
  5. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in the prepared loaf pan.
  6. Brush the top with melted butter for a golden finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • To make the bread even more flavorful, add herbs like rosemary, thyme, or garlic powder to the dough.
  • For a cheesy twist, stir in some shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or parmesan) to the dough.
  • If you want a sweeter version, add more sugar (about 2 tablespoons) and a pinch of cinnamon.
  • Store leftover bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days. It can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat slices in a toaster or wrap the loaf in foil and warm in a 350°F (175°C) oven for about 10 minutes.
