Ingredients

Chocolate cake mix (follow package instructions for water, vegetable oil, and eggs)

Instant vanilla pudding mix

Cold milk (for the pudding)

Cool Whip (thawed for easy spreading)

Oreo cookies (about 25)

Instructions

  • Bake the cake according to the package instructions.

  • While the cake bakes, mix the instant vanilla pudding with cold milk until fully combined.

  • Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake.

  • Pour the pudding over the cake, ensuring it fills the holes and covers the entire surface.

  • Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour. During this time, crush the Oreo cookies and mix them into the Cool Whip.

  • After the hour, spread the Cool Whip mixture evenly over the cake.

  • Chill for another 30 minutes.

  • Garnish with additional crushed Oreos and chocolate syrup, if desired. Slice and serve!

Notes

  • The pudding should fully soak into the cake for optimal flavor and moisture.

  • For a twist, consider using white chocolate pudding mix or Oreo pudding mix.

  • Be sure to mix the crushed Oreos into the Cool Whip just before serving to prevent them from getting too soggy.
