This No-Bake German Chocolate Pie is a rich, creamy dessert with a chocolate pudding filling, a crunchy coconut-pecan topping, and a buttery crust. It's the perfect easy dessert for any occasion, requiring no baking and just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients

1 (9-inch) graham cracker or chocolate cookie crust

1 box (4-serving size) instant chocolate pudding mix

1¾ cups cold milk

1 cup sweetened shredded coconut

1 cup chopped pecans

¼ cup caramel sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until well combined. Allow it to set for 5 minutes, or until thickened.
  2. Pour the chocolate pudding mixture into the prepared graham cracker or chocolate cookie crust, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the shredded coconut and chopped pecans. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the chocolate pudding layer.
  4. Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours, or until fully set and chilled.
  5. Before serving, drizzle with caramel sauce for added sweetness and extra flavor, if desired.

Notes

  • For a nut-free version, omit the pecans and substitute them with another nut or leave them out entirely.
  • Try variations in the crust like Oreo or coconut macaroon crust for different flavors.
  • Make-ahead: This pie can be prepared a day in advance and kept in the fridge until ready to serve.
  • For a vegan version, use a plant-based pudding mix and vegan crust.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
