Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels

1 cup granulated sugar

3 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp kosher salt

1 tsp baking powder

1 cup M&M's candies (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.

  2. Melt Butter and Chocolate: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat and stir in half of the semi-sweet chocolate morsels and sugar until smooth and fully melted.

  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Stir in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

  4. Add Dry Ingredients: Gently fold in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir just until combined to avoid overmixing.

  5. Fold in M&M's: Add half of the M&M's into the batter, then pour the batter into the prepared dish. Top with the remaining M&M's and semi-sweet chocolate morsels.

  6. Bake: Bake for about 38 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  7. Cool and Slice: Allow brownies to cool completely before slicing into squares.
