Ingredients

Brussels sprouts

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Set the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Prepare Sprouts: Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half.

  • Season: Toss the sprouts in a large bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper until they are evenly coated.

  • Roast: Place the sprouts cut-side down on the baking sheet. Roast for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through.

  • Glaze: Remove the sprouts from the oven, drizzle with maple syrup, and add red pepper flakes if using. Toss to coat.

  • Finish Roasting: Return the sprouts to the oven for another 5-8 minutes, until the syrup bubbles and the edges are crispy.

  • Serve: Transfer the sprouts to a serving dish, garnish with toasted hazelnuts (optional), and adjust seasoning to taste.
