Ingredients

For the Cake:

Butter

Granulated sugar

Eggs

Vanilla extract

All-purpose flour

Kosher salt

Baking powder

Baking soda

Buttermilk

For the Butter Glaze:

Butter

Granulated sugar

Water

Vanilla extract

Instructions

    • Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan thoroughly.

    • In a stand mixer, combine the cake ingredients. Start mixing on low speed for 30-45 seconds, then increase to medium speed for 3 minutes.

    • Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    • While the cake bakes, prepare the butter glaze. Melt butter in a saucepan, stir in sugar and water, and cook until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

    • Once the cake is done, cool it slightly. Poke holes throughout and pour the warm glaze over the cake.

    • Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before inverting it onto a serving plate. Slice and serve.

Notes

    • You can enhance the glaze by increasing its quantity for a thicker, sugary crust.

    • To add flavor variety, consider incorporating almond extract or bourbon into the glaze.

    • Feel free to fold in chocolate chips or chopped nuts into the batter for added texture.
