15 ounces of any beans (drained and rinsed)

Additional seasonings: chili powder, cumin, garlic powder (to taste)

Instructions

  • In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks.

  • Stir in the tomatoes, beans, and seasonings of your choice. Bring to a simmer.

  • Reduce the heat and let the chili simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

  • Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot.

Notes

  • Spicy Version: Add extra chili powder, cayenne pepper, or jalapeños for more heat.

  • Vegetarian Version: Swap the meat for more beans or textured vegetable protein (TVP).

  • Slow Cooker: Brown the meat and onion, then add all other ingredients to the slow cooker. Cook on low for 4 hours.

  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Reheat on the stovetop or microwave.
