This Salmon with Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce recipe features tender salmon fillets paired with a rich, garlicky, and tangy lemon butter sauce, creating a quick yet impressive dish.

Ingredients

4 salmon fillets, skin-on or skinless

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

4 tablespoons butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

Juice of 1 lemon

1 teaspoon lemon zest

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the salmon fillets generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets, skin-side down (if using skin-on salmon). Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer the salmon to a plate and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but be careful not to burn it.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice and zest. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly and thicken.
  5. Return the salmon fillets to the skillet and spoon the garlic lemon butter sauce over the top. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat the salmon through and allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Herb-Infused Sauce: Add fresh thyme or rosemary for extra flavor.
  • Spicy Option: Add red pepper flakes to the sauce for heat.
  • Crispy Salmon: Pan-sear the skin side for a few extra minutes for crispiness.
  • Parmesan Crust: Coat the salmon with grated parmesan cheese before searing for a crispy crust.
  • Storage: Store leftover salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat in a skillet over low heat or microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
