This Creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta is a rich and comforting dish that combines the savory flavors of garlic, Parmesan, and creamy sauce with perfectly cooked pasta. It's a quick and easy weeknight meal that delivers on taste and texture.

Ingredients

8 oz pasta (such as fettuccine, spaghetti, or penne)

2 tablespoons butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 tablespoon chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes until it starts to thicken slightly.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Continue to stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta evenly in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

  • To make this dish lighter, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or milk.
  • If you prefer a spicy version, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • For a vegetarian twist, add roasted vegetables like broccoli, zucchini, or mushrooms.
  • This dish can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
