Chocolate Delight is a rich and creamy layered dessert featuring a buttery pecan crust, a smooth cream cheese layer, luscious chocolate pudding, and a fluffy whipped topping. It’s the perfect indulgence for any occasion, combining textures and flavors that everyone will love.

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup butter, at room temperature

1 1/2 cups finely chopped pecans, divided

Pinch of salt

8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature

1 cup powdered sugar

2 (8-oz) tubs Cool Whip, thawed

2 small boxes instant chocolate pudding mix

3 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, butter, 1 cup of chopped pecans, and salt. Use an electric mixer to mix until just combined. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust just starts to brown. Let cool completely.
  3. In another bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar with an electric mixer until smooth. Fold in half of the Cool Whip and mix until combined. Spread this cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled crust.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the instant chocolate pudding mixes and milk with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes until thickened. Spread the pudding mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Spread the remaining Cool Whip over the chocolate pudding layer. Sprinkle the remaining chopped pecans on top.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow layers to set.

Notes

  • Substitute pecans with walnuts or almonds for a different nutty flavor.
  • Use vanilla pudding instead of chocolate for a lighter twist.
  • Add a layer of fresh strawberries or raspberries between cream cheese and pudding layers for a fruity surprise.
  • For gluten-free, use gluten-free flour in the crust.
  • Top with chocolate shavings or drizzle melted chocolate for extra decadence.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days; serve cold.
  • Freezing is not recommended as it may affect texture.
  • Cool Whip holds texture better than whipped cream in this recipe.
