Candy grapes are a fun, colorful treat combining fresh grapes' natural sweetness with a crunchy, sugary coating. Perfect for parties, holidays, or snacking, these vibrant, marbled candy-coated grapes will impress your guests. With customizable flavors and colors, they make a festive and visually stunning addition to any event. A simple yet delicious treat, these candy grapes are a must-try!

Ingredients

  • 20-25 grapes, washed and completely dried
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • White gel food coloring
  • Other gel colors of your choice (e.g., neon pink and sky blue)
  • 2 teaspoons flavored oil (e.g., vanilla or citrus)
  • Sprinkles for decorating (optional)

Instructions

  • Prep the Grapes: Insert a skewer or toothpick into each grape and set them aside on a tray. Ensure the grapes are completely dry for the candy coating to adhere properly.
  • Cook the Sugar Mixture: In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reaches 300°F (149°C) on a candy thermometer (hard crack stage). Remove from heat.
  • Add Color and Flavor: Stir in the white gel food coloring and flavored oil. Add 3-4 drops of your chosen gel colors and gently swirl with a skewer to create a marbled effect.
  • Coat the Grapes: Dip each grape into the candy mixture, ensuring an even coating. Allow excess candy to drip off. Optionally, roll the grapes in sprinkles for extra fun.
  • Dry: Place the coated grapes on a parchment-lined or silicone mat-lined baking sheet. Let them dry for about 15 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate for 10 minutes for faster setting.

Notes

  • Ensure grapes are completely dry before dipping to prevent moisture from disrupting the candy coating.
  • You can experiment with different flavored oils, such as mint, almond, or cinnamon.
  • Create a rainbow effect or customize colors to match a holiday theme.
  • Let the candy set properly to avoid stickiness when stored.
