Craving a Big Mac but want something healthier? This Big Mac Salad is a low-carb, deconstructed version of the classic fast-food burger, offering all the flavors you love—ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and Thousand Island dressing—in a fresh, satisfying salad. Quick to prepare and customizable, it's perfect for meal prep or a light, hearty dinner.
1 lb ground beef (90/10)
1 head of iceberg lettuce
2 Roma tomatoes, diced
12 pickles, diced (more if desired)
1/2 cup red onion, diced
1 bottle Thousand Island dressing
Optional:
A sprinkle of sesame seeds
Shredded cheese
In a sauté pan, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
Wash and chop the iceberg lettuce, then place it into a large bowl.
Dice the Roma tomatoes, pickles, and red onion. Add each to the bowl, tossing to combine.
Add the cooked ground beef to the bowl and toss all the ingredients together using salad tongs.
Top with Thousand Island dressing and optional sesame seeds or shredded cheese. Serve immediately.
You can customize the salad with other toppings like avocado, cucumbers, or bell peppers.
To make the salad spicier, add chopped jalapeños, hot sauce, or chili flakes.
For a vegetarian version, replace the ground beef with crumbled tofu or tempeh.
