This Apple Pie Dump Cake combines the warm, comforting flavors of a traditional apple pie with the ease of a dump cake. A simple dessert with minimal prep and maximum flavor, it’s perfect for fall or any occasion when you need a quick and delicious treat.

Ingredients

1 can of apple pie filling (21 oz)

1 box of yellow cake mix (you can also use spice cake mix for added flavor)

1 stick of butter (melted)

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Optional: Chopped nuts (like pecans) for topping

Optional: Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  3. Pour the apple pie filling into the prepared dish, spreading it out evenly.
  4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the apples.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix.
  6. Sprinkle cinnamon over the top (optional, for extra flavor).
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Optional: Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for added indulgence.

Notes

  • For a different twist, swap the apple pie filling for peach pie filling.
  • Spice it up with a ½ teaspoon of nutmeg along with the cinnamon.
  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts to the top for a crispy texture.
  • For a lighter option, use sugar-free cake mix and apple pie filling.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days.
  • Reheat in the microwave or oven for best results.
