Ambrosia Salad is a classic dessert salad made with fruit, marshmallows, Cool Whip, and sour cream. Ingredients

8 oz Cool Whip (lite is fine)

1/2 cup sour cream (light is fine)

11 oz mandarin oranges, drained

20 oz crushed pineapple, drained

10 oz maraschino cherries, drained, halved, and patted dry

1 cup sweetened coconut flakes

2 cups miniature marshmallows

3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional: pecans, walnuts, or cashews)

Instructions

  • In a large serving bowl, fold the sour cream into the Cool Whip until well combined.

  • Gently fold in the mandarin oranges, crushed pineapple, maraschino cherries, coconut flakes, and marshmallows.

  • If using nuts, add them in at this point.

  • Serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.

  • Nuts: Add nuts like pecans, walnuts, or cashews for an extra crunch. You can also toast the nuts for added flavor.

  • Fruit: You can switch up the fruits based on availability. Fresh grapes or bananas work well in place of canned fruit.
