Juicy and flavorful air fryer garlic parmesan chicken skewers marinated with garlic, parmesan, and herbs, cooked quickly for a healthy and delicious meal.

Ingredients

1 pound (450 g) chicken breasts or thighs, cut into 1-inch cubes

1/4 cup (60 ml) olive oil

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Wooden or metal skewers (if wooden, soak in water for 20 minutes to prevent burning)

Optional Garnish: Additional grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by mixing olive oil, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Add the chicken cubes to the bowl and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours for more flavor.
  3. Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers, leaving small gaps between pieces for even cooking.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the skewers in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until cooked through and golden (internal temperature 165°F/74°C).
  6. Transfer the skewers to a platter. Garnish with extra Parmesan, parsley, and lemon wedges if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use boneless, skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts for juicier skewers.
  • Add a sprinkle of panko breadcrumbs on the chicken before cooking for extra crispiness.
  • Swap Italian seasoning for herbs like rosemary or thyme for a different flavor.
  • For a spicy kick, add cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the marinade.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat skewers in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes until warm and crispy.
