This Air Fryer Chicken Breast recipe delivers perfectly seasoned, juicy, and tender chicken breasts with minimal effort. It is quick, healthy, and ideal for weeknight dinners or meal prep.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Seasoning Paste: In a small bowl, combine olive oil, kosher salt, oregano, paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder to form a paste.
  2. Season the Chicken: Rub the seasoning paste evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
  3. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 370°F (188°C).
  4. Cook the Chicken: Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10 minutes. Flip the chicken and continue to cook for an additional 4–8 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  5. Rest the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the air fryer and tent with foil. Let it rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) to avoid overcooking; residual heat will raise it to 165°F (74°C).
  • Thaw frozen chicken breasts before cooking for best results; if cooking from frozen, increase cooking time and ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Flip the chicken halfway through cooking for even browning and cooking.
  • Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5–7 minutes.
