7 Layer Bars, also known as Magic Cookie Bars or Hello Dolly Bars, are a rich and chewy dessert featuring layers of graham cracker crust, chocolate and butterscotch chips, coconut, walnuts, and sweetened condensed milk. Perfect for gatherings and holiday treats.

Ingredients

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs

1 cup coconut flakes or shredded coconut

1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup butterscotch chips

14 ounces sweetened condensed milk

1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or coat with non-stick spray.
  2. In a bowl, mix the melted butter and graham cracker crumbs until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
  3. Evenly sprinkle the coconut flakes over the crust, followed by the semi-sweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and chopped walnuts.
  4. Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top of the layered ingredients.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 22–28 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  6. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan, at least 3 hours, before removing and slicing into squares.

Notes

  • Use gluten-free graham cracker crumbs to make the bars gluten-free.
  • Refrigerate before slicing for cleaner cuts.
  • Bars can be frozen for up to 2 months with parchment between layers.
  • Can be mailed if properly packaged.
