Ingredients

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

8 small flour or corn tortillas

1 cup shredded cabbage or lettuce

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1/4 cup sliced red onion

1/4 cup chopped cilantro

1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

1 tablespoon lime juice

Optional: hot sauce, avocado, or cheese for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

  • In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the shrimp and toss to coat evenly with the seasoning mix.

  • Arrange the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. The shrimp should be golden brown and crispy when done.

  • While the shrimp cooks, warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.

  • In a small bowl, mix the sour cream with lime juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • To assemble the tacos, place a few shrimp in each tortilla, and top with shredded cabbage or lettuce, diced tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and a dollop of lime-infused sour cream.

  • Add any additional toppings like hot sauce, avocado, or cheese if desired.

  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Spicy Variation: Add chili flakes or cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix for extra heat.

  • Grilled Option: Grill the shrimp on a stovetop grill pan for a smoky flavor if you don’t have an air fryer.

  • Vegetarian Option: Replace shrimp with crispy tofu or grilled vegetables for a plant-based taco.

  • Storage: Store leftovers in separate airtight containers for up to 2 days.
