Garlic Butter Baked Salmon is a flavorful and easy-to-make dish that combines rich salmon fillets with garlic butter, lemon, honey, and fresh herbs. Perfect for both beginners and experienced home cooks, it's a quick, delicious, and impressive meal for any occasion.

Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 tablespoon honey

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1 lemon, thinly sliced

1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Place the salmon fillets, skin-side down, on the prepared baking sheet. Season each fillet with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, honey, and chopped parsley. Stir well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  4. Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over each salmon fillet, ensuring each piece is coated.
  5. Arrange the lemon slices on top and around the salmon fillets.
  6. Optionally, sprinkle dried thyme over the top for added flavor.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Once done, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • If you prefer a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
  • Swap parsley and thyme for dill, tarragon, or basil for a fresh twist.
  • For a sugar-free option, substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
  • Leftover salmon can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat in the oven at 275°F for about 10 minutes for the best results.
