A refreshing and delicious homemade berry lemonade made with freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar, and frozen mixed berries. It’s the perfect summer drink for any occasion.

Ingredients

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 cup sugar (depending on sweetness preference)

1 1/2 cups frozen mixed berries

3 cups water

Ice

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the sugar, frozen berries, and 1/2 cup water. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil and cook for about 10 minutes, until the berries soften and burst.
  2. Pour the syrup mixture into a blender and carefully blend until smooth.
  3. Place 2 cups of ice in a pitcher or measuring cup. Place a fine mesh strainer over the ice and strain the berry mixture to catch all the small seeds, cooling it down quickly.
  4. In the pitcher, combine the ice/syrup mixture, lemon juice, and 3 cups of cold water. Stir to combine and adjust the water if needed for your preferred sweetness and tartness.

Notes

  • This recipe can be made with any variety of berries such as raspberries, strawberries, or blueberries.
  • Adjust the sugar based on your desired sweetness. You can use honey or agave syrup as alternatives.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container or pitcher in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Feel free to add a tropical twist with mango or peaches if desired.
