Sweet, smoky, and perfectly tender, these grilled apples with cinnamon and honey make a simple yet impressive treat. Lightly caramelized and warmly spiced, they are perfect as a dessert, side dish, or topping for your favorite dishes.

Ingredients

4 apples (about 16 thick slices)

3 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 tablespoon cinnamon

3 tablespoons rhum (optional)

Pecans for decoration

Light oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. Wash the apples thoroughly and pat dry. Cut into thick slices or wedges, about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick, and remove the core, seeds, and stems. Lightly brush both sides with oil to prevent sticking.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, cinnamon, honey, and rhum (if using) until well combined.
  3. Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F / 200°C). Clean and oil the grill grates.
  4. Place the apple slices directly on the grill. Brush the top side with the glaze and grill for about 4 minutes.
  5. Flip the slices, brush the other side with glaze, and grill for another 4–6 minutes until tender, lightly charred, and caramelized with visible grill marks.
  6. Remove from the grill, sprinkle with additional cinnamon if desired, drizzle with extra honey, and garnish with pecans before serving.

Notes

  • Firm apple varieties like Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji hold their shape best.
  • Substitute maple syrup or brown sugar for honey if desired.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or ground cloves for extra warmth.
  • For dairy-free, replace butter with coconut oil or plant-based butter.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently in a skillet, microwave in short intervals, or warm in a 300°F (150°C) oven for 5–8 minutes.
