Crispy Honey-Glazed Shrimp is a delightful seafood dish featuring fried shrimp with a sweet and spicy hot honey glaze, perfect for weeknight dinners or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, thawed, peeled, deveined, tail-on

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon kosher salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Vegetable oil, for frying

½ cup hot honey

Parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the shrimp in a medium bowl and cover with buttermilk. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Remove shrimp from buttermilk and dredge in flour mixture until fully coated.
  5. Fry the shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes each, or until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Drizzle fried shrimp with hot honey while still warm.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

  • For extra heat, increase cayenne or add hot sauce to the marinade.
  • To make gluten-free, substitute with a gluten-free flour blend.
  • Use a thermometer to maintain oil temperature during frying.
  • For reheating, bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
