Chocolate Covered Apple Pops are a delightful and healthier alternative to traditional candy, combining the crispness of fresh apples with the richness of chocolate and a variety of customizable toppings. This easy-to-make treat is perfect for kids and adults alike, making it an ideal snack or dessert for any occasion.

Ingredients

4 Honeycrisp apples

1 cup dark chocolate chips

1 cup white chocolate chips

¼ cup pumpkin seeds

¼ cup shredded coconut

¼ cup dried cranberries

¼ cup raw walnuts

2 tablespoons sprinkles

2 teaspoons coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the apples. Cut them into ¼-inch thick slices, removing the core.
  2. Carefully insert wooden sticks into the base of each apple slice.
  3. In separate microwave-safe bowls, melt the dark and white chocolate chips with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  4. Dip each apple slice into the melted dark chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off. Place the dipped slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the apple slices with your choice of toppings, such as pumpkin seeds, shredded coconut, dried cranberries, raw walnuts, and sprinkles.
  6. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the topped apple slices for added decoration and flavor.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has fully set.

Notes

  • Nut-Free Option: Omit the nuts and use additional dried fruits or seeds.
  • Vegan Version: Use dairy-free chocolate chips and ensure all toppings are plant-based.
  • Holiday-Themed: Customize with colored sprinkles or themed toppings for special occasions.
  • Caramel Addition: Before dipping in chocolate, spread a thin layer of caramel on the apple slices for an extra sweet touch.
  • Store the chocolate-covered apple pops in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  • These pops are best enjoyed cold. If the chocolate softens, place them back in the refrigerator to set.
