A quick and easy blueberry crumble dessert with a sweet and tangy filling topped with a buttery, cinnamon-spiced crumble.

Ingredients

1/2 c. flour

1/2 c. old fashioned rolled oats

1/2 c. white sugar

1/2 c. brown sugar

1/2 t. salt

1 t. cinnamon

1 stick butter, cut into tablespoon-sized pieces

4 - 6 c. blueberries

1/2 c. sugar

1/2 t. grated lemon zest

2 T. butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ºF (190ºC).
  2. For the crumble topping, mix the flour, oats, sugars, salt, and cinnamon together. Add the butter pieces and blend the mixture until it forms crumbly clumps. Set aside.
  3. Place the blueberries in a buttered baking dish. Sprinkle the sugar and grated lemon zest over the berries, then dot with butter.
  4. Evenly spread the crumble topping over the berry mixture.
  5. Bake the dessert for about 35 minutes, or until the crumble topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

Notes

  • For a vegan option, substitute the butter for a plant-based alternative and use vegan-friendly sugar.
  • If using frozen blueberries, make sure to thaw them before using or adjust the baking time.
  • Feel free to experiment with different berries or fruits like raspberries or strawberries for variety.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • To make the crumble topping extra crispy, consider adding more butter or chopped nuts.
