Banana Cheesecake Donuts with Caramel Sauce combine the rich flavors of cheesecake, banana, and caramel, stuffed in fluffy donut muffins. This indulgent treat is perfect for anyone who loves both donuts and cheesecake.

Ingredients

For the Donut:
1/2 cup white sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour

For the Topping:
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray your donut pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon, then stir in sour cream and milk until well blended.
  3. Mix in baking soda and salt, then gradually add flour, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each section about halfway, yielding about 3 donuts.
  5. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. While the donuts bake, mix melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl to make the topping.
  7. Once donuts are done, remove from the pan and let them cool slightly.
  8. While warm, brush the donuts with the cinnamon butter topping to coat them evenly.
  9. Hollow out the center of each donut and fill with banana cheesecake mixture.
  10. Drizzle with homemade caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

  • Banana Cream Filling: For a lighter variation, use banana cream filling or banana pudding.
  • Chocolate Chips: Add mini chocolate chips to the batter for an extra twist.
  • Glazed Donuts: Skip the cinnamon topping and opt for a powdered sugar glaze or chocolate glaze.
  • Fried Donuts: For a traditional donut experience, fry the donut muffins instead of baking them.
  • Vegan Version: Use dairy-free sour cream, milk alternatives, and vegan caramel sauce.
  • Storage: Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 1–2 days.
  • Freezing: Freeze donuts (without filling or caramel) for up to a month. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
  • Reheating: Add fresh filling and caramel sauce before serving for best results.
