Ingredients

1 lb Jimmy Dean sausage

1 (6oz) box StoveTop stuffing (chicken or turkey)

3 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add the contents of the StoveTop stuffing and stir well. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the uncooked sausage, prepared stuffing, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into small, tightly packed 1-inch balls.
  4. Place the sausage balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate them for at least an hour or overnight.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the sausage balls for about 25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Let the sausage balls cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to refrigerate the sausage balls before baking to help them hold their shape.
  • For added flavor, serve with cranberry dipping sauce or add spices like sage or garlic powder.
  • For a spicier version, use spicy sausage or add hot sauce to the mixture.
